DIY Projects/Mods - Bling
Transmisson Pan & Flywheel Cover
After owning this car for over 4 years I thought it was time to change the transmisson
filter & fluid. I also figured is was time to add some bling to transmisson.
I stopped at my local parts store & picked up a transmisson filter/pan gasket
for a 350 turbo. You will also need at least 4 to 6 quarts of transmisson fluid. Being that
this car is over 30 years old & was filled with Dexron III that is what you should use.
But, Dex III is no longer licensed by GM so I upgraded to Transynd 295. This is top shelf
fluid as it is used by Allison. OBTW - it is not cheap... $40 a gal.
NOTE - DO NOT use a rubber transmisson pan gasket as they will leak. Get a
cork or cork composite gasket.

Rear Axle Cover
While I was changing the transmisson fluid I decided to replace the rear axle gear lube and
add some bling. Pretty simple change.. You will need 1 quart of gear lube and new rear axle cover
gasket.
